Police: Crashed plane apparently identified
NEPTUNE, N.J. (AP) - July 6, 2008 State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones said Sunday that the wreckage
appeared to match a small RV-7 plane missing out of the airport in
Allaire.
But Jones said nothing had been recovered from the crash site to
link it to the missing plane -- or its unaccounted for owner,
Richard Jahns of Point Pleasant Beach.
Jones said Jahns was believed to be the only person on board the
plane when it took off from Allaire.
A small plane crashed at about 7 p.m. Saturday near the New
Jersey shore.
A phone call to a number listed for Jahns wasn't immediately
returned Sunday.
