Sun sets on shore's holiday weekend

JERSEY SHORE - July 6, 2008 From food to fun, visitors went everywhere down the shore this holiday weekend.

Customers came for the good food and that meant great business at the Hula Grill on Ocean City's boardwalk this holiday weekend.

For three days, the lines were long at Playland's Castaway Cove.

"This was probably the busiest I've seen Ocean City on a July 4th weekend. I've never seen so many people on the boardwalk and the beach at the same time when they were shooting the fireworks off. It was quite a sight," Playland's Scott Simpson said.

The fun carried on into the evening on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Some will stay, but for many it's time to head home, their heads filled with memories of an action-packed weekend at the Jersey shore.

Over in Ventnor, it was a hazy, hot weekend down the shore, but the rain held off.

The beach was busy Sunday, where people soaked up the sun as the holiday weekend comes to an end.

In the new fishing pier, the fish were doing a great job avoiding the bait casted by those with the reels.

While the Fourth of July hats may be coming off, there are still many summer days to soak up the sun and take a dip in the water, with more appealing ocean temperatures.

For most it may be the end of the holiday, but for some they are making it a holiday week down the shore.
