Police are investigating two shootings, one ended in murder.
Several people called 911 about midnight to report that a man had been thrown from a car.
Police and medics responded to the scene - the 1500 block of North 11th street in North Philadelphia - and realized the man had been shot, too.
He was rushed to Temple Hospital, but died there. His killer and the vehicle the man was thrown from have not been found.
At about the same time, police were called to a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.
The victim is now listed in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Police say they have not made any arrests in this case.
