Woman killed after being ejected in crash
HARBESON, Del. (AP) - July 17, 2008 About 7 a.m., police say 29-year-old Megan Hammel lost control
of her car on Indian Mission Road near Hollymount Road.
Thirty-five-year-old Darwin Menendez of Milford was driving the
six-wheeled truck near Harbeson when he hit Hammel's car. During
the crash, police say she was thrown from the vehicle; she was
pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Hammel was wearing her seat belt and police
say alcohol is not a factor.
Police don't plan to charge Menendez in the accident. He was
treated and released at a local hospital.
