AC on fritz at apartments for disabled

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. - July 21, 2008

They're hoping inspectors will come out today to find out why the air conditioning isn't working.

The Regency Park is an apartment building for people who are older than 55 and have some form of disability. That makes the lack of air conditioning even tougher on these residents than it would be on healthier people.

Residents say management tells them they don't have enough money to get a new air conditioning unit for the building. But the residents say their rent is supposed to include air conditioning and the quick fixes that maintenance is making on the existing unit haven't been working.

Action News called management staff for the apartment to see what they would say about the situation. We haven't heard back.
