Woman raped near Wilmington train tracks

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - July 28, 2008 According to police, 33-year-old Chris Scioli demanded a sex act from the woman as she was walking along the railroad tracks just south of South Madison Street.

During a struggle, police say she cut him in the chest using a pen knife. But he allegedly hit her in the head with a metal object before raping her Sunday night.

Scioli forced the woman to walk near the Wilmington Riverfront-Shipyard Shops where a family saw him and called police.

Wilmington officers responded and took him into custody. He is charged with rape and assault and the woman has been released from the hospital for a cut to her head.
