Defendants face charges in girl's death- Philadelphia news

PHILADELPHIA - August 1, 2008

Philadelphia police have processed or in the middle of processing all but one of the people indicted by a grand jury for the death of a 14-year-old Danieal Kelly who suffered from cerebral palsy. Her emaciated body was found in her mother's squalid house covered with bone-deep, maggot-infested bedsores in August 2006.

Photos of defendants Dana Poindexter, Mikal Kamuvaka, and Marie Moses will be released when police have finished filing court paperwork related to the case.

Police are still trying to find Diamond Brantley.

In a 258-page grand jury report indicated two Philadelphia Division of Human Services workers, two workers from a private social services agency and three of Andrea Kelly's friends either saw or were told of what was happening to Danieal, but did nothing until after she died. Then, according to authorities, they worked to cover-up what happened.
