Seaford man charged in Dover shootout

DOVER, Del. (AP) - August 7, 2008 Twenty-five-year-old David Thomas Jr. is charged with first-degree assault, six counts of reckess endangering and several deadly weapon charges.

Police say the gunfight happened late Monday night near River Road and Kent Avenue. A bullet struck a 31-year-old Dover woman in the back.

According to police, detectives found 24 rounds at the scene fired from four different weapons.

Thomas is being held on $264,000 bail.
