Alligator, in cage, found on side of road

LOWER BANK, N.J. (AP) - August 8, 2008 An alligator has been found in a cage along a road in Lower Bank.

Fred Schubert found the 4-foot reptile in the rural Burlington County community on his way to work Thursday.

He threw the cage in his truck and continued on to his job as a mason.

Animal control officials later picked up the gator, but they don't have an explanation for who left it by the road.
