Stolen Ambulance recovered

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - August 12, 2008

The ambulance from the Lafayette Ambulance company was recovered just before 7 p.m. in Upper Merion township.

The vehicle was stolen from outside Montgomery Hospital in Norristown four hours earlier.

Police tell us Medics went inside the hospital to drop off a patient.They returned to find the ambulance was gone.

The ambulance was spotted on Westbound I-76 shortly before 7 p.m. and was followed by police until it stopped at Schaffer road and route 202.

The man behind the wheel was taken into custody, but, police aren't releasing his name until he's charged.
