Decoy coyotes have been placed on islands in a northern Indiana lake.
The idea is to scare away ducks and geese that have been gobbling up seeds from wetlands plants.
Officials with the Hammond Port Authority report some concerned drivers have been calling about dogs trapped on the islands.
Well, the dogs are actually the two-dimensional decoys cutouts, which were first installed about two years ago.
Officials report the fake coyotes have worked so well, they'll be removed soon because the plants are thriving.
