Corzine allows limited training at Warren Grove

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - August 15, 2008 The target flare was dropped by an F-16 fighter jet during target practice in May 2007. The fire consumed more than 17,000 acres, forced residential evacuations and damaged surrounding communities.

Target operations at the base were suspended while new safety protocols were put in place.

The New Jersey Air National Guard's 177th Fighter Wing will resume some training in October. If all goes well, the range will reopen to other units on November.
