Elvis is back, sort of

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - August 15, 2008

A 6-foot tall statue of the King of Rock and Roll is now back at Cool and Eclectic Furniture and Fashions in the Virginia resort city.

The Elvis statue vanished last month, during the city's 14th annual Elvis festival.

The King had been on display in front of the store.

It looks like Elvis had some tough times while he was away.

Owner John Estes says two teenagers hauled in a mud-caked Elvis -- in three pieces.

An arm was cut off, as was the statue's base.

This weekend marks the 31st anniversary of Elvis' death.

Estes adds he's taking steps to make sure his other statues don't disappear.
