16 arrested after drug raid in Selbyville

SELBYVILLE, Del. (AP) - August 17, 2008 The operation Friday night was meant to target open-air drug dealing on Polly Branch Road.

Police executed nine search warrants and have arrested nine people on warrants charging them with delivery of cocaine. Another seven people were found to be in possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia or weapons and were arrested on gun and drug charges.

Fifteen people were arrested Friday night, and a 16th, 20-year-old Phillip Smith of Frankford, was picked up Saturday night after a Laurel police officer stopped him for a traffic violation. He's charged with delivery of cocaine.

The people arrested range in age from 19 to 55.
