Annual naked beach run in Canada

VANCOUVER, B.C. (AP) - August 18, 2008

Hundreds of nudists turned out yesterday for a beach run in Canada.

The 12th annual Wreck Beach Bare Buns Run takes place along the shore below the University of British Columbia.

The five-K run, a little over three miles, raises money for beach preservation efforts.

To 64-year-old Walther Haberl, the naked run is about more than shedding clothes.

He says his fellow nudists are also shedding their pretensions.
