Car hits tree in Chester, lands on roof

CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA - August 19, 2008

A police chase that hit 100 miles an hour, ended in Chester, when the suspects' car slammed into a tree and rolled down an embankment.

The car ended up on its roof, resting against a guardrail near the Edgemont exit of Intertate 95.

The pursuit started just after midnight on Tuesday in the 2700 block of Rosemont Avenue in Wilmington, where a robbery and shooting had been reported.

Two suspects are in the hospital with injuries. A third suspect is in jail.

Police found a gun on route 495. They say the suspects throw it out of the car during the chase. There are no reports of anyone being injured at the scene of the robbery.
