Obama prepping V.P. announcement

By the end of the week, we'll know Barack Obama's choice for his number-two.

You can cast your vote for who Barack Obama's V.P. choice will be in the 6abc.com poll located in the column to the right.

Obama will announce his vice presidential choice in the coming days, but the end of the week appears more likely. His campaign manager has told supporters that they'll get the news through a mass text message.

Obama is believed to have narrowed his list to Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, Delaware Senator Joe Biden, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh (by), and Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (seh-BEEL'-yuhs). But some Democrats say Obama may surprise everyone by choosing Hillary Clinton.

John McCain is thinking about naming his running mate between the end of the Democratic convention next week and the start of the Republican convention. His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
