Environmental Protection spokeswoman Darlene Yuhas says about 300 acres in a remote area of the base, near the Ocean-Burlington county line, are involved.
Yuhas says the state is monitoring the fire and will provide assistance if it moves off the military property. There's no indication that will happen now.
Yuhas says the fire has not increased in size since it started Thursday and is not posing a public threat.
