"I like the warm weather and being out here on the boardwalk," Ernest Christian of Dallstown, Pa. said.
"Gorgeous summer, beautiful summer, I enjoyed it and getting ready for next year," Carmen Benson of Patterson, N.J. said.
In Cape May, visitors were catching some waves, as well as rays, on this last big weekend; most are sorry to see it all end.
"It is sad because you see the same people, you see new people, and you know it's over then you have to wait and get through the winter," Nancy from Bristol, Pa. said.
"August was very good, but now we're worried about September; we'll see how the economy's going, we hope we get the day-trippers down," Jim Dickson, a Cape May merchant, said.
