2 fishermen missing in South Jersey

SALEM, N.J. - September 2, 2008 Missing are Gerald Lewis, 33, and Larry Preston, 37, both of Salem.

The Coast Guard received a call at 2:10 a.m. from a member of Salem County emergency dispatch reporting two people missing who were fishing from the Route 49 Bridge in the Salem River.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Salem, a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., members of the Salem and Pensville Police Departments and the New Jersey State Police searched for the men today. The Coast Guard suspended their search this morning shortly after 11:00 this morning.

So far neither of the missing have been found.
