Fisherman up to his neck in mud

Maurice, N.J. - September 3, 2008 - But, it's not about the fish.

It all happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday near Thompson's Beach in Maurice, New Jersey.

Officials say 60-year-old Wayne Cox, of Leesburg, was fishing in a Delaware Bay tributary when his boat got stuck about 150 feet from shore.

Investigators say Cox tried to get out of his boat and get to shore, when he wound up sinking in the mud and was stuck up to his neck.

Cox was stuck for about two hours before the Heislerville Volunteer Fire Company used a rope to pull him out.

Cox was not hurt during this ordeal.
