McGreevey lawyers back before judge

ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - September 8, 2008 Jim McGreevey and Dina Matos were divorced last month.

Still unresolved is a fraud claim accusing him of duping her into marriage because he needed the cover of a heterosexual relationship to advance his political career.

Matos was seeking more than $600,000 as compensation for the 13 months she was deprived of living in the governor's mansion because McGreevey resigned in 2004.

The judge denied Matos' damage claim, but did not dismiss the civil suit.

Matos' lawyer has said she'll drop the case if her ex pays her $109,000 for their joint assets.

McGreevey's lawyer says he won't succumb to such ultimatums.
