Jackknifed rig jams Pa. Turnpike

WHITEMARSH, Pa. - September 8, 2008

The driver's head was cut in the accident in Whitemarsh just before 9 a.m. No word from officials just how severe the injury is.

State police say no other injuries have been reported and no one else was involved in the accident.

The truck was leaking fuel from its tanks. The tanker the rig was hauling was empty at the time of the crash.

By 9:50 a.m., workers had moved the tanker truck from the spot where it crashed, but the cleanup of the fuel spill, which covered all westbound lanes, continued.
