Big names may testify in Bryant trial

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - September 9, 2008 As jury selection opened Monday, prospective jurors were asked to whether they know any of the 300 people whose names could surface in the pension-padding case.

Among them: Senate President Richard Codey, Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts, Camden Mayor Gwendolyn Faison and former Attorney General Peter Harvey.

It's not clear who could be called to testify.

Bryant could face prison time if he's convicted of 12 counts that center around charges that he took no-work government jobs to pad his pension.
