The employment firm says of 14,000 employers surveyed, only 22 percent expect to increase their staff levels in the final three months of the year. Thirteen percent expect to reduce their payrolls. Some 59 percent look for no change in hiring and six percent are undecided.
The sectors expecting decreased hiring activity during the quarter include wholesale and retail trade. Mining is the only sector looking to increase staffing during the quarter.
