Airport expansion could mean less noise in Del.

TALLEYVILLE, Del. - September 10, 2008 - A draft environmental impact statement is expected to be published this month. A decision is expected next year on whether to go forward with either expansion plan, or not expand at all.

Under the expansion plans, the airport would add 25-35 gates, extend two runways and build a new 9,100-foot runway.

Northern Delaware residents have complained that noise from increased air traffic would ruin their quality of life. The FAA says traffic will increase even without an expansion.
