Delaware State Police have released the name of the Wilmington area man who was killed by police after a bank robbery and a pursuit Tuesday. Police say 25-year-old Maurice Faulkner forced open the doors of a closed bank branch in Bear, and demanded money from the tellers at gunpoint.

When he was told the tills were empty, police say Faulkner took purses and wallets and fled in a Rent-A-Center truck.

According to police, a witness followed Faulkner in his car and called 911.

Police joined the chase and followed Faulkner to the Newark train station, where officers said he exited the truck and pointed a gun at a trooper.

Two troopers and a New Castle County officer fired their guns, fatally wounding Faulkner.

Faulkner's gun was found to be a pellet pistol.
