High School Huddle: September 20, 2008

Segment #1 West Chester Henderson defeats West Chester East 17-14. www.6abc.com. Keith Russell reports and Gary Papa reports on scores from across the region.

Segment #2 WMMR's Preston recalls his fondest HS Football memory. http://www.wmmr.com/ Preston went to every football game, not as a player but a member of the school marching band.

West Catholic Senior Quarterback Curtis Drake is this week's HS Huddle Primetime player. Drake is headed to Penn State next season to play for Coach Joe Paterno.

Segment #3 Legendary, now retired south jersey football coach Vince McAneney was recently honored with the renaming of a football field in his honor…Nora Muchanic reports.

Garnet Valley Football Coach Mike Ricci and his 8 year old son Jonathan have fostered an unusual Friday night father / son tradition. It started when Jonathan was only 4 years old. Jonathan not only leads the team onto the field, he's the team waterboy..But before he does all that, he heads to the parking lot, fondly referred to as the pint size parking lot attendant.

Segment #4 Teams for our next HS Huddle game of the week will be Garnet Valley vs. Conestoga.

WANT YOUR SCHOOL TO BE ON 6ABC?

High School Huddle is looking for human interest stories as it pertains to football at various high schools. Whether it's player recruiting, or a coach setting a milestone. Perhaps there's a unique fundraiser or social awareness activity going on. Maybe there's a special person affiliated with the football team who serves as motivation. The stories are endless. Send your story ideas to Warren Trent @ 215-581-4525 / warren.trent@abc.com.

GET YOUR GAME HIGHLIGHTS ON 6ABC.COM!

Want your football game highlights to be featured on 6abc.com ? Here's how you can make that happen! We know a lot of high schools videotape the football games..and a lot of schools have editing equipment. If high school students want to cut a weekly highlight reel (they can even host it!), we can provide a site where it can be posted for use on 6abc.com. We would simply need an mpeg2, or wmv or .flv file. For more information, please call or email Lee Daniels at 215-581-4590 / lee.daniels@abc.com.
