Fire kills 3 children in Chester County

COATESVILLE, Pa.-September 21, 2008 The fire broke out just before Midnight on the 100 block of North Second Avenue. It quickly spread to two alarms, trapping the occupants inside.

A birthday balloon blew in the wind at 2nd and Lumber Street. It usually is a cheerful reminder of a celebration, but not in this case.

Fire destroyed everything in the house and snuffed out the lives of three little boys.

"They were sweet kids; I just keep seeing their smiles. They were always smiling, they were good kids," Brittney Coulston, a family friend, said.

11-year-old Brian was celebrating his birthday yesterday along with his 3-year-old nephew Tyzire. Also killed wasTyzire's 4-year-old brother Tyrone.

It happened overnight, 100 firefighters were summoned to the scene where they rescued two women from the roof, but there was no way to save the boys.

What happened here has not only devastated the family, people in this neighborhood just can't believe the boys are gone.

"They were very spirited kids, joyful kids to be around. It's just a tragedy, nothing else you can say, but a tragedy," Reverend Daryl Perry said.

Fire investigators are now trying to determine what caused this fire that has claimed three young lives.

A fund has been set up to help the family of the fire in the wake of this tragedy.
