Who killed Solomon Plummer?

Strawberry Mansion - September 26, 2008

3-year-old Marquin Plummer will never know his father.

Solomon Plummer was the father of four, a former marine and the recipient of a Liberty Bell award for heroism after he caught a purse snatcher.

In the summer of 2007, he opened his own bar in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion section. Snooky's is located in the 32-hundred block of West York Street.

"He started making his dream come true that what he wanted to be his own boss," said Lena Plummer, Solomon's mother.

Solomon, known to his family and friends as "Big Daddy", was also trying to acquire the recording studio next door. That's where he spent his day on Wednesday October 3rd, 2007. But when he didn't show up at the bar that night, his employees got worried. They found him just after 10 p.m. in the studio, shot once in the back of the head.

"They go in there and find him dead," Lena said.

His family said nothing was taken from the room and there was no sign of forced entry.

"I miss him coming through my door. I miss him going through the refrigerator anything mom cooked he eat," Lena said.

There is a one-thousand dollar reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

"Speak up and let people know this can help stop stuff."
