Fire damages Phila. City Hall

PHILADELPHIA CITY HALL - September 27, 2008

Firefighters rushed to Philadelphia City Hall early Saturday morning to put out a fire on the fourth floor of the massive building.

Firefighters responded to an alarm that went off in the building a little after 4:30 A.M..

Dozens of firefighters rushed to City Hall.

They quickly found smoke coming from room 429, a small room near a judge's chambers.

Three people were evacuated from the building.

Crews ripped out the ceiling and walls of the room as they searched for any other signs of fire. They found nothing.

All the damage was confined to that room, and most of it is water damage.

There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on a cause.
