Howard batted .352 (31-for-88) with 11 homers, 32 RBIs and 26 runs to help the Phillies to their second straight NL East title. The first baseman had a .852 slugging and .422 on-base in the month.
Fans will vote online for the clutch player of the year which will be announced during the postseason. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez won the award last season.
