Parolee struck officer's vehicle

PRICES CORNER, Del. - October 1, 2008 - The Delaware Department of Corrections says it happened around 1:30 p.m. near the Prices Corner Shopping Center.

According to the DOC, the officer was called to the area after a parolee with an arrest warrant was spotted there.

The DOC says that parolee began running around cars in the parking lot.

The officer pursued in his vehicle when, the DOC says, the parolee ran in front of him. Before he could stop, he hit the parolee, running over his foot and ankle.

He was treated and released from the hospital, then taken to court for processing.

The names of those involved have not been released.
