A retired eastern Pennsylvania police officer and his teenage daughter are dead after a motorcycle crash in the Poconos.

The 47-year-old former Easton police officer, Timothy Lambert, and his 16-year-old daughter, Taylor, were returning from a motorcycle show in Hunter Mountain, N.Y., when the accident happened.

Police say the motorcycle Lambert was driving went off a winding road in Monroe County and struck a tree Sunday evening.

Coroner Dave Thomas says the two died at the scene.

Lambert retired last year after more than two decades with the Easton Police Department. He was working as a school police officer for the Easton Area School District. Taylor Lambert was an honor student at Easton Area High School. She played the clarinet in the school band.
