Taking a stroll on Scarecrow Walk - Philadelphia News

October 5, 2008 9:02:20 PM PDT
A bunch of stiffs were the life of the party today at the Morris Arboretum. The scarecrows slowly took shape as families celebrated the 10th annual Fall Festival.

It took special care to make them extra scary.

The imagination runs wild, especially for the creators of the frightful guys and gals on Scarecrow Walk.

They were entered into a contest and were raffled off as a fundraiser.

23 scarecrows lined Scarecrow Walk. Children of all ages filed by and not one of them were scared.

Some of the kids skipped the scarecrows and went straight for the pumpkins, customizing them with extreme care.

At least they're easy to take home.

But what do you do with a six foot scarecrow?

Actually you take a cue from the deer hunters.

Strap them across the hood, and frighten everyone else on the road.
