Boater killed in crash in Delaware

DELAWARE CITY, Del. (AP) - October 6, 2008

Sgt. Gregory Rhodes, of the Del. Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agency, says the boat may have been going too fast when it hit the jetty near the Reedy Point Bridge early Sunday morning.

Rhodes says the boat's owner died, but the passenger got out of the boat and went for help.

The boat has been impounded while authorities continue their investigation. Rhodes says the boat is a crime scene.
