AC drops plans for 1-way traffic flow

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - October 9, 2008 The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has awarded a $2.5 million contract to a Monmouth County firm to study ways to make traffic flow in only one direction on Atlantic and Pacific avenues.

But the council dropped the plan Wednesday night after hearing complaint from business owners.

Cars and buses would have traveled one way along Pacific Avenue, the street closest to the casinos, while it would have gone in the opposite direction on Atlantic, a block away.
