Gunfire rang out a little after 12:20 on Saturday morning in the unit block of North 61st Street.
It left a 19-year-old man lying in the street with a bullet wound to the stomach.
He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
So far, officers have not made any arrests and have not released the name of the victim.
Police have not indicated if they have a motive in the case.
