Soccer mom to defend her gun in court

LEBANON, Pa. (AP) - October 14, 2008 Meleanie Hain is scheduled to appear Tuesday afternoon in Lebanon County Court. She's appealing the county sheriff's revocation of her permit after other parents complained last month that she was carrying her loaded handgun in a holster at her daughter's soccer game.

Hain's lawyer says state law allows gun owners to carry their weapons openly without a license everywhere but Philadelphia.

Greg Rotz of Chambersburg says dozens of gun-rights supporters are expected to attend the hearing.

Rotz says he faced similar charges after he wore a sidearm to his voting precinct on Election Day last November. His case was thrown out in January.
