Most nights, most working women rush out of Center City to get home. But the first Thursday each month, dozens stay in town to do some major bargain shopping.

"Major" as in $12 designer suits, $8 separates and $6 blouses. Those are the bargains offered at the Career Wardrobe's once-a-month sale.

The Career Wardrobe offers career advice to women transitioning into the workforce. They also give them interview-appropriate clothes, which are donated to the organization by women who are already in the workforce.

But, as Executive Director Sheri Cole explains, most of the donors are sizes 6 to 8, while most of the organization's clients are size 16 to 18. Buy selling the clothes that don't fit the clients, Career Wardrobe can buy clothes that will fit.

Shoppers get the great deals.

The sale is held the first Thursday of each month from four to seven in the evening at Career Wardrobe's office. The address is: 1211 Chestnut Street.
