Mrs. Fixit: Closet Halloween

Do you have closets full of one time use clothes like dance recital costumes, ring bearer, flower girl and sports outfits. Well if you do pull them out of the closet, they make great halloween costumes! I'll show you.

Those little tulle confections that girls wear in their dance recitals every spring are the perfect start for a woodland fairy costume. Add some wings and a crown of flowers and that expensive costume gets another use!

How about a flower girl dress? Generally they're white, so why not make your own little bride. A yard of tulle from the fabric store gathered into a veil and a little bouquet of flowers is all you need!

With some wings and a halo that flower girl dress turns into a angel.

Was your little guy a ring bearer? That suit can be paired with a top hat and you've got the start of a great magician's costume.

Add a bunny for the hat and a trick magic wand from the costume store and you're good to go!

Sports uniforms are a given and they're super easy. Pair your child's baseball or football pants with their favorite team's cap and shirt or jersey and they can go as their favorite athlete!

As with any costume make sure that it it's not cumbersome to the child and that they can be seen in the dark! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
