$31M verdict for NJ crash victim

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) - October 21, 2008 A jury ruled in favor of 22-year-old Nicholas Anderson, who was severely injured in a 2004 accident.

Anderson's lawyers say he swerved to avoid another car and slammed into a guardrail that his attorneys successfully argued wasn't crash-worthy.

The guardrail did not stop the vehicle but punctured Anderson's driver side door, causing multiple, lasting injuries, including severing his leg below the knee.

The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill says the award is possibly the largest in the history of Camden County for a motor vehicle accident.
