Murder charges dropped in double slaying

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - November 4, 2008

Prosecutors told Superior Court last week they would not prosecute /*Aaron Archy*/ for the February 2005, slayings of Holland Brown and Marquita Smith. Prosecutors did not explain, but Archy's attorney says there was not enough evidence.

Archy was being held in prison last year on charges that he fatally shot 17-year-old Luis Perez when police accused him of killing Brown and Smith.

Wilmington police gave no details then on how investigators came to suspect Archy or what they knew about a second suspect.

Earlier this year, Archy was sentenced to life in prison plus 33 years for first-degree murder in Perez' death.
