Police car accident sends officers to hospital - November 9, 2008

This afternoon around 3:45 p.m. a 24th District police cruiser was pulling out of the Fleet management facility at the intersection of Front Street and Hunting Park Avenue and was broadsided by a white Honda. The police cruiser then spun and hit a traffic light.

The traffic light then fell to the street.

The two officers had to be taken out of their vehicle and transported to Temple Hospital.

The two officers are in stable condition.

Rania Major-Trunfio represents the man who was driving the white Honda. She says that the plates of the Honda aren't stolen.

The driver was taken into custody.
