Marching to honor veterans

MEDIA, Pa. - November 11, 2008 - "I'm just honored to be a part of this parade," said Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, a veteran himself. "Couldn't be a better cause than to honor veterans of foreign wars."

It was a sentiment shared by the thousands of spectators who lined up on State Street in Media for the annual Veteran's Day parade, which for many is an annual tradition.

The parade has been a tradition in Media for nearly half a century. It always begins at 11:11 a.m., the exact time 90 years ago when the armistic was signed, bringing an end to World War One.
