Murder charge filed in August Del. shooting

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - November 12, 2008 Twentuy-one-year-old Jerome Collins of the 400 block of East 3rd Street surrendered to police on Sept. 1, one day after the shooting near his home that wounded 20-year-old neighbor Andre Jenkins. Collins was initially charged with attempted murder, but Jenkins died about three weeks later.

The indictment includes a first-degree murder charge and weapons offenses.

Collins remains behind bars at the Howard Young prison.

Police say Collins had been previously arrested for 15 felonies and had been convicted of five.
