Smithsonian scooping up Obama stuff

WASHINGTON (AP) - November 13, 2008

But stuff from the campaign is already being scooped up by the Smithsonian Institution.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is collecting everything from strategy boards to a Lazy Boy chair from Obama's campaign in northern Virginia.

Curators are thanking Obama's staff for saving the items, which are often thrown away or kept as souvenirs.

Museum officials say they're planning an exhibit that will recreate an Obama campaign office.
