Mrs. Fixit: Breadboxes

November 15, 2008

If you have a dog a breaadbox is the perfect out of the way spot to stash combs, brushes. leashes and doggie bags. Right where you need them whenever you're looking.

A breadbox near the backdoor is a great place for keys, mail, phones and other small items that you need to grab on the way out of the house, just close up them up and they're out of the way until you're ready to go.

Drill a hole in the back of your breadbox and run a power strip cord to an outlet. Now you've turned your breadbox into a charging box for cell phones, PDAs, MP3s and all of those other electronics that need charging!

If you can find a breadbox big enough, turn it into a home office, stash your laptop, stapler, paper clips and any other office supplies neatly inside and out of the way.

And finally, a kid's homework station. With all those things kids are always asking for: calculators, pencils, paper, and scissors. All right where anyone needs it can find it.

Now that's thinking outside the box! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
