A suburban Philadelphia teen is charged with killing two passengers in a suspected drunken-driving crash. State police in Chester County say 18-year-old Kevin Demichiel struck an oncoming vehicle in Elk Township at high speed last month, killing 18-year-old Stephen Bare and a 16-year-old juvenile.

Demichiel is free on $50,000 bail after Wednesday's arraignment on two counts of vehicular homicide and related charges. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 10.

Defense lawyer Thomas Schindler did not immediately return a message Thursday.

The other driver, 26-year-old Christopher Lynch, has been treated for serious injuries and released.

Demichiel and Lynch live in the town of Lincoln University, as did the victims.
