Demichiel is free on $50,000 bail after Wednesday's arraignment on two counts of vehicular homicide and related charges. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 10.
Defense lawyer Thomas Schindler did not immediately return a message Thursday.
The other driver, 26-year-old Christopher Lynch, has been treated for serious injuries and released.
Demichiel and Lynch live in the town of Lincoln University, as did the victims.
