But once a year, for 5 days only, jewelry designer Steven Lagos opens his factory and showroom. And what's more, he sells his jewelry for half-price!
"It was really a way for us to work through our samples and overruns it's just a five day event that we do and it generates a lot of interest," said Steven Lagos.
Among the hundreds of pieces a $950-dollar ring on sale for $475.Another great deal a $350 heart necklace which is selling for just $175. And a $795 bracelet which can be yours for less than $400.
In this economy, it's no surprise that shoppers began lining up at 8 Friday morning to take advantage of the deals.
"I don't think that you could go wrong if you buy something that costs $1000 and you get it for $500," said shopper Mary Evans.
Lagos Jewelry agreed that the sale is generating a lot of interest.
"I think that the economy plays into it a little bit we've seen a bigger response this year and more interest. I think people today are looking for better value and I think that's where it's really at," he added.
Lagos jewelry is located at 441 N. 5th Street (between Callowhill and Spring Garden streets). The hours for this weekend, have been changed to Friday, November 21, 2008, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 22, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
